Types of Injuries We Heal
In our practice, we commonly see patients who have suffered from the following types of injuries:
- Whiplash: A common injury resulting from car accidents, whiplash occurs when the neck is abruptly jerked forward and backward, causing strain on the muscles and ligaments.
- Concussion: Head injuries can lead to concussions, which can cause a range of symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties.
- Sprains: Sprains occur when ligaments are stretched or torn, commonly affecting joints such as the ankles, wrists, or knees.
- Soft Tissue Injuries: These injuries involve damage to the muscles, tendons, or ligaments, leading to pain, swelling, and limited mobility.
- Nerve Entrapments: Nerves can become compressed or trapped, causing pain, tingling, or numbness in affected areas.
The Importance of Chiropractic for Personal Injuries
Working with Insurance Companies
We understand the complexities of personal injury cases and work with insurance companies to ensure seamless billing. Patients involved in personal injury cases should bring their insurance information, a copy of the police report (if available), a valid ID, and any other relevant information related to the accident or incident.
Appointment Duration and Imaging
The initial appointment duration may vary depending on the extent of the injury. We typically recommend allowing ample time for a comprehensive evaluation and treatment discussion.
Our clinic offers X-rays as part of the diagnostic process, allowing us to assess the injury accurately and develop an effective treatment plan. In some cases, we may refer patients for additional imaging, such as an MRI, to gather more detailed information about their condition.
Recovery Time and Additional Treatments
The duration of recovery varies depending on the severity of the injury. On average, patients can expect a recovery period ranging from 8 to 12 weeks. However, each patient’s condition is unique, and we may recommend maintenance treatments to support long-term healing.
In addition to chiropractic care, we may also recommend appropriate imaging, which we provide in-house through X-rays. If necessary, we may refer patients for additional imaging, such as an MRI. Additionally, physical therapies may be recommended to enhance the healing process.
